Building Peace Bridges Across Generations for Sustainable Peace and Development by intra-intergenerational dialogue

From August 28th to 29th , 2025, under our flagship GWIZAMAHORO Program 2100, we held a 2-day pilot workshop on intra-intergenerational dialogue in Kicukiro/Kigali at Domus Pacis. The workshops convened 28 participants from 7 civil society organizations who are part of our consortium. The gathering brought together diverse voices to reflect on five core domains of societal transformation: family, religion, education, economy, and politics, which can shape sustainable peace in Rwanda and the Great Lakes Region.

On Day 1, participants envisioned the ideal future of these domains and how they can nurture sustainable peace across generations.

On Day 2 – From Vision to Action

We explored existing opportunities and practices that already promote this vision, discussed the challenges we face, and designed strategies to overcome them, ensuring that peace is transferred from one generation to the next.

Citizen Participation in Action

This dialogue was more than just a conversation between generations. It was an act of citizen participation, where every voice counted, every perspective was valued, and together we planted seeds of a shared vision for a non-violent future as we all share responsibilities to act for the sustainable peace we envision.

Gratitude to Our Partners

We are truly grateful to our partners. A consortium of seven Civil society organizations working hand in hand to “deconstruct together what has destroyed us” for ensuring a peaceful future.
