AJECL extends its sincere gratitude to the Lemonaid & ChariTea Foundation for its unwavering partnership and generous support under our Youth Entrepreneurship and Job Creation pillar. Since the beginning of our collaboration in 2017 up to 2025 , the Foundation has played a vital role in empowering vulnerable young people across Rwanda by strengthening their access to financial resources, entrepreneurial skills, and sustainable livelihood opportunities. Through this partnership, hundreds of young people have gained the confidence and capacity to build a better future for themselves and their communities.
With the support of the Lemonaid & ChariTea Foundation, AJECL successfully implemented the project “Strengthening the Entrepreneurial and Organisational Capacity of 12 Savings and Internal Lending Communities (SILCs) in Rulindo and Gakenke Districts.” The initiative reached nearly 300 young people, equipping them with business development, entrepreneurship, organizational management, and financial literacy skills. Through revolving funds provided to youth-led SILCs, many participants were able to launch and expand small businesses, creating employment opportunities and fostering a strong culture of savings, self-reliance, and economic resilience.
Beyond economic empowerment, the project has contributed significantly to positive social transformation. Young people involved in the initiative have become advocates for peace, gender equality, and community development, while challenges such as drug abuse, early pregnancy, and gender-based violence have declined among beneficiaries.
We are especially encouraged by the many success stories of youth who can now meet their families’ basic needs, support their children’s education, and contribute meaningfully to society. We deeply appreciate the Lemonaid & ChariTea Foundation for believing in the potential of Rwanda’s youth and for walking alongside us in our mission to create lasting opportunities and sustainable change
